Résumé - Léonard BALDNER fut le premier grand naturaliste alsacien rhénan. C’est à partir d’un de ses manuscrits conservés à Cassel que nous avons pu retracer son histoire et connaître la faune du Rhin strasbourgeois du XVIIe siècle.

Abstract - Leonard BALDNER was the first great Alsatian naturalist. We were able to retrace his history thanks to one of his manuscripts kept in Cassel wherein the 17th Century fauna in the Rhine at Strasbourg is described.
