Note sur l'Eicones plantarum de J.T. Tabernaemontanus : un ouvrage exceptionnel de botanique du XVIe siècle

Résumé  ̶  L’article est consacré à un exemplaire particulier du livre Eicones plantarum de J.T. Tabernaemontanus conservé à la Bibliothèque de l’Université et de la Société Industrielle de Mulhouse (BUSIM). Sa particularité tient aux annotations inscrites sur l’ouvrage, dont les ex-libris successifs et les commentaires faits par son dernier propriétaire, Josua Risler. Ce pharmacien mulhousien du XVIIIe siècle avait constitué une importante collection d’ouvrages naturalistes dont plusieurs nous sont parvenus et sont en dépôt à la BUSIM et à la Bibliothèque municipale de Mulhouse. Les planches botaniques de l’ouvrage Eicones plantarum qui représentent des orchidées sont ici spécialement étudiées.

Abstract  ̶ Note on Eicones plantarum by J.T. Tabernaemontanus: an exceptional botanical book of the 16th century
The article is devoted to a particular specimen of the Eicones plantarum by J.T. Tabernaemontanus preserved at the Library of the University and Industrial Society of Mulhouse (BUSIM). Its particularity lies in the annotations inscribed on the book, including the successive ex-libris and the comments made by its last owner, Josua Risler. This eighteenth-century pharmacist from Mulhouse had built up an important collection of naturalist works, several of which have survived and are on deposit at the BUSIM and at the Mulhouse municipal library. The botanical plates of the work Eicones plantarum, which represent orchids, have been specially studied.
