Abstract ̶ The Natural History Society of Colmar has just acquired a fossil collection of fish found in the marl Clay of Froidefontaine. The forty fish comprising the acquisition provide a good sampling of a Middle Stampian localisation, and are evidences of the last encroachment of the sea which extended over the Rhine rift thus creating a link between the Mainz bowl and the prealpine seas. A bird, also acquired, Frigidafons brodkorbi cheneval (a new kind), 1s an exceptional specimen both as to its rarity and its state of conservation.
